![]() ![]() Pinnacle Studio has always been an intuitive video editor with features that can make it easy for video enthusiasts to learn the ropes in projects, but with Macs still favored by creatives, it may be high time to see the suite available on other platforms, and the ARM architecture sooner rather than later. However, there’s no Mac version of Pinnacle anywhere to be seen (on either M1 Macs or older Intel-based Macs), and the iOS version is seemingly abandoned, as the latest update is still showcasing iOS 10 support. With Adobe already achieving M1 native support on most of the Creative Cloud Suite, it’s also working on Windows ARM compatibility, and already has Lightroom available for it, with more on the way. With Apple all in on ARM with its M1 chip, which powers its latest Macs and MacBooks, and Microsoft in heavy testing with Windows 10 and Windows 11 on the same architecture, customers are going to want their favored software to work on these machines sooner rather than later. I actually use CCE basic ($58), but that is a different discussion. However, with Pinnacle Studio only available for Windows machines running a 64-bit CPU, the increasing prevalence of ARM-based laptops may mean that it’s time for Corel to look toward making the software available on more machines. I found its 1 Pass VBR to be as good as TMPGEnc two pass. I am not suggesting you buy it (its pricey at $150), it is just faster for running these tests. Its a whole lot faster than TMPGEnc and more standard for DVD. The demo works 100% except that it puts a watermark on the upper left hand corner. Here is the reference I used to come up with these settings Īnother thing you might want to try is downloading the MainConcept Encoder ( ). The structure should look like IBBPBBPBBPBBPBBīits 224(I have used 192 and 224 dont think it really matters) Max GOP is 15 (that is the DVD standard for NTSC, 18 for PAL I believe) Size 740x480 (Full D1, could have use 352x480 per DVD standard) ![]() Here are my usual settings that Studio does not re-encode:Ģ pass VBR Max 8000, Min 2500, Average xxxx (usually 4700, but I have used as high as 6500) I worked on this problem for almost 10 hours! The key here is to find out what in the world Pinnacle sees that makes it believe that it is dealing with a non-standard DVD MPEG. You are fighting the same thing I was fighting. It takes about 1 1/2 hours to compile the disk to my hard drive (which I consider dreadfully slow for just creating the VOBs). Now it renders the menu and it goes straight to Compile Disk. I was using joint Stereo instead of straight stereo and that caused it to re-encode the whole MPEG. I had a really hard time getting it to not re-encode my MPEG-2 imports. I am not saying that Studio is the greatest thing, but it sure has worked for me. New hardware updates, multi-camera editing abilities, and features like stop motion animation and split screen video are just some of the great new features you will fine in this version of Pinnacle. Come and explore all of the new feature and updates since you purchased Pinnacle Studio 15. I burned using Nero which I prefer for burning because it is better at telling me of error BEFORE screwing up my blank DVD-R!Įvery single DVD I have burned contains an MPEG-2 which is at least 4Gig in size. Pinnacle Studio 25 is now the newest version available. ![]() Make sure you select the MPEG audio checkbox.Īlso, I did a make disk without burning. xii Pinnacle Studio Equipment requirements In addition to your Studio software, an efficient Studio editing system requires certain levels of hardware performance as noted in this section. Studio does not reencode the MPEG if the bitrate you specify is lower than the one encoded in your MPEG (doesnt sound right, but that is how it works) and as long as the audio is MPEG 1 layer 2 Stereo. When I did a make disk I set the bitrate to 3000 Custom. I have 18 chapters (6 per page for 3 pages). Pinnacle Studio Plus delivers intuitive timeline editing with a customizable interface and keyframe flexibility to fine tune your work. I added a motion menu from Studio 8 (the first one on the second page of the menus which has the film background). ![]() I encoded it at 4120 kbit/s with 192kbit/s audio per the bitrate calculator out of this site. Ignorance must be bliss! I did not know there was supposed to be a problem. ![]()
